Antonio Pecchia

Welcome to my personal academic page

I am Associate Professor at the University of Sannio, Italy, where I teach Operating Systems (BS), Data Science (MS) and Deep Learning (Doctoral program). I co-founded the Critiware company in 2011.

Until 2019 I was at the Federico II University of Naples, Italy, where I got my Ph.D. in Computer Engineering (2011). I joined the University of Sannio as Assistant Professor with Tenure track (2019-2022). I was a visiting researcher at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, USA (2010-2011).
Over the years, I spent some industrial periods at Critical Software (Portugal), Deiser (Spain) and Assioma (Italy) and had the chance to collaborate with top-tier companies, such as Leonardo (Italy) and Infosys (India), in the context of European projects are other public-private initiatives.

Research topics: experimental testbeds, attacks and network datasets; analysis of metrics and system logs; machine, transfer and federated learning; anomaly and intrusion detection; adversarial attacks to IDS; reproducible deep learning experiments; performance of services and Cloud systems.

I regularly contribute to the international scientific community. Some recent service: Publicity co-chair (DSN 2024), Track chair (SAC 2024), Workshop co-chair (DCDS 2023), TPC Member (DSN 2024 Industry track, EDCC 2024 Student forum, ISSRE 2023 Industry track, ICTSS 2023, CLOUDCOM 2023).
I have been Guest editor for a special issue of the IEEE Transactions on Dependable and Secure Computing.
