I am Associate Professor at the University of Sannio, Benevento, Italy, where I teach Operating Systems (BS), Data Science (MS) and Deep Learning (Ph.D. program). I co-founded the Critiware company in 2011.
Until December 2019 I was at the Federico II University of Naples, Italy, where I got my Ph.D. in Computer Engineering (2011). I joined the University of Sannio as Assistant Professor with Tenure track (2020-2022), and then became Associate Professor (2023-current). I was a visiting researcher at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, USA (2010-2011). Over the years, I spent some industrial periods at Critical Software (Portugal), Deiser (Spain) and Assioma (Italy) and had the chance to collaborate with top-tier companies, such as Leonardo (Italy) and Infosys (India), in the context of EU projects are other public-private initiatives.
Research topics: security, attacks and network datasets; analysis of metrics and system logs; machine, transfer and federated learning; anomaly and intrusion detection; adversarial attacks against ML-based NIDS; reproducible deep learning; performance of services and Cloud systems.
I regularly contribute to the scientific community. Recent service: TPC Member (DSN 2026), Workshops Chair (EDCC 2025), Track chair (Safe, Secure and Robust AI-SAC 2025 and 2024), Publicity co-chair (DSN 2024), Workshop organizer (DCDS-DSN 2023), TPC Member (DSN Industry track 2022-2024, ISSRE Industry track 2014-2025, EDCC 2024 Student forum, ICTSS 2023, CLOUDCOM 2023). I have been Guest editor for a special issue of the IEEE Transactions on Dependable and Secure Computing. I founded the Reliability and Security Data Analysis workshop (seven editions so far).
